Micah is an Idaho native and brings over 15 years of experience in public education. He completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Northwest Nazarene University, earning a BA in secondary history education and an MA in educational leadership. Micah has been a high school history and English teacher, including summer/alternative programs, as well as serving in K-12 administration for over a decade, working in the Vallivue, Nampa, and West Ada School Districts and served as the principal at Sage International School of Boise from 2015-18.

During his time with IMLA, he has worked with school leaders from across the state in large, small, urban, suburban, and rural districts, to benefit students and empower teachers to build relationships to impact student learning and growth.

Micah has a dedicated commitment to school choice and charter education, both in his current leadership position, but as a parent of charter students in Canyon County, and as a graduate of a local private high school. Micah brings a strong educational technology integration background with him to school leadership. Additionally, his focus in public education is in building leadership capacity and organizational/systems effectiveness through intentional change.
